Final vacation week for me, will ramp up with good content going forward. I’ve heard that some of you want analysis of Nike’s new hardcore Olympics ad campaign. Good suggestion, I’m on it. Feel free to send any other tips to houseofstrauss@substack.com, and I’ll see all of you next week.

I'm interested in reading about the unusual ways the debate over trans women in sports is unfolding during this Olympics. The case of Ilona Maher is fascinating; she seems like a very sweet and clearly talented athlete—the kind of person who those advocating for a level playing field in women's sports should want to protect. Wouldn't it make sense for outlets like Outkick and The Daily Wire to say, "Hey, let's not pile on with nasty comments about her appearance and superficial gender non-conformity. Remember, as we've been saying for the past seven years, just because someone has some masculine traits, it doesn't make them a man!"
Such a stance could demonstrate that their efforts to protect women's sports are genuine and not merely a mean-spirited bullying campaign.
USA 3x3 just lost to Poland. Bring Tatum and Haliburton and Bam over stat.
LeBron should get a crew & go thru all the real qualifications for the 3x3 in LA for 2028. What an epic end cap to get a gold in that too
