Motion to rebrand a slanted, reductive shrink-manning summary as a "spin-opsis."

PR-ification is a good one to me, it is applicable to many situations. It’s a close cousin to one of my own personal inventions, “ResLife-ification,” referring to the spread of paternalistic/coercive freshman dorm rules to every facet of adult American life: speech codes, emotional coddling, hectoring people over minor personal preferences, unquestioning progressive politics, etc. Your old RA is now VP of HR.

My favorite on your list is "Red Zoning", and the family Thanksgiving table would provide plenty of opportunities to bring it up.

My phrase-o-the-week is "Price of Admission". In a sentence, "Sure, Jim's wrong and I think he knows it, but do we really want to pay the Price of Admission hear him say it?" The idea is that it's easier for people to change when they can maintain their dignity in the process. It's cheaper to admit something to yourself than it is to say it to everyone, and so it's best not to have someone castigate themselves through public acknowledgement if their change can happen without that.

Would be thankful if you moved from out of the Bay Area to a Midwestern red state for a couple years to see what would happen to your perspective. Can’t put my finger on it but there’s something very Harden in Houston about your self proclaimed “populist snob” identity coming from where you live and grew up. Like all the shots come too easily or something. Be fascinating to see in a different system.

Shrink manning is a good term but I LOVE "fat is potential in disguise". It's useful beyond just sports and to everyone who is good at something despite an obvious effort problem. A good writer but immensely unfocused? Good cook who plays fast-and-loose with measurements and cook-times? Fat is potential in disguise baby.

While the Undecided Whale name isn’t catchy the comparison of the birds in bush really sends the point home, definitely my favorite and I will try to use it.

ALSO I need you inside my ears Ethan please more narrated articles!

Noticing / Noticer, spoken and written in an ominous manner, has explanatory power.

For example:

How many in elite media are secret readers of Steve Sailer of Unz Review, The Man Who Notices? Many!

Be careful what you wish for. I coined a term that is now pervasive in my industry, but its meaning morphed as the term's popularity increased so now it's more of a distraction/annoyance.
