If one thinks these influencers are authentic and have no agenda . They are delusional. They all have agendas. Take Grant Cohn - is he authentic and does he have no agenda. No way he believes the crap he puts out. Fight with Kinlaw? 20% bump In engagement. Let’s do more. Sam might be right saying fans aren’t smarter but I am. As Ethan said- Spain pick and roll, Gortat screen , floppy, even pin down. When I played we had a lot of pass and screen away, but no dribble handoffs , ghosting a screen. These discussions have helped me enjoy basketball more. I’m glad Sam came around on Kerr, as I watched the playoffs and saw teams change strategies to win series. I thought of all the Warriors playoff wins. Yea they had a great team . But great teams don’t always win it all ( see Dodgers last 10 years). The 2022 win over Celtics was the best , the warriors defensive philosophy broke them. Celtics remade the offense and became best in the league.
I think authenticity is an aspect of why zoomers gravitate towards certain streamers. It is kind of depressing, however, when you actually dive into these spaces and watch what's popular.
In my experience (yes, there are a few streamers that I regularly tune into) you can find any number of great content that covers literally anything you're looking for. Book reviews, news, politics, etc. But because of the sheer number of people on the streaming platforms trying to 'make it', the ones who are currently popular and successful are often ones who are willing to really REALLY push the boundaries of what's acceptable to talk about in such public settings. Go look through Sneako, Adin Ross, Nick Fuentes, Hasan Piker, Fresh and Fit and you'll basically be appalled at the kinds of things these streams talk about. They push boundaries so much so that a recent meta conversation happening on Kick, Twitch, Rumble has veered into just downright anti-semitism. Like actual conspiracies about how Jews control the government, the mainstream media and anything else they might deem 'beta'.
I think people aren't designed to seek truth, they're designed to seek self-affirming viewpoints. Not to say that there are tons and tons of anti-semites out there seeking this kind of content out. But maybe you're a lonely teenager who hasn't had a girlfriend yet and you tune into one of the manosphere self-help channels like Sneako or Fresh and Fit to feel better about your situation. They talk about how women are inferior to men, how men are designed to cheat and have multiple partners and how women should be fine with their partner cheating. It's self affirming. I'm not the problem, the women are! Well, as a content creator, you can only bang that drum so long before it gets stale, so you have to turn your gaze elsewhere. It makes sense that now the more popular alt-media figures like Tucker Carlson have given more weight to the idea that maybe Hitler wasn't the big baddie of WWII, the less mainstream streamers would push that boundary all the way to full-blow jewish conspiracies.
But the same goes for those of us who do lead somewhat normal lives. There are plenty of non-inflammatory figures in those spaces that look at the more popular younger streamers who think 'what the fuck is going on'. I honestly think the FREE aspect of these platforms is downplayed quite a bit. It's free entertainment.
I think Ethan and Sam touched on this aspect. It might be more entertaining. That's not really arguable. But is that the only thing users should consider when picking a streamer to watch? and is that healthy for us as a whole? It kind of feels like, at least for now, people under 30 live in separate worlds entirely. I'm interested to see where this leads, but I would say that at least for the moment we live in, it's awkward and not ideal.
Zoomers with their stats. Had a ridiculous argument with one about Dani Alves being the great RB in footy history. Zer brought up how many goals he scored … on a stacked Barca team.
But he cant defend. He plays RB, defending is his job. In his prime, Maicon started for Brazil over him.
I said then Trent Arnold is the best RB ever? Zoomers had no argument to their own stat based logic.
This Zoomer sounds kind of dumb, cause Alves didn't score many goals, but he racked up a ton of assists, including two seasons of 10+ assists for Sevilla, who were absolutely not a stacked team.
As far as Trent, he is the best passing RB ever and probably the best offensive RB ever already, with Alves being his main competition.
Cafu is a fine answer for best ever RB, though imo it's not as iron clad as you think.

Steven Ruiz is a straight bozo and Ben Solak just recites EPA stats

The correct answer to best RB is Cafu.
Yes. Meant goals/assists.
Cafu pick is arguable but is definitely isnt Dani Alves.
