Omricon will mean the end of the last 2 years of madness 🤞 dubs will win the title curry gets finals mvp finally. Oh shit you asked for predictions not my wishes 🤣
I think the signs point to the fact it should be. My concern lays in the fact that the powerful like the fact covid gives them more power and I think they will be reluctant to give up said power. I'm cautiously optimistic tho 🤞.
Some sort of coordinated wide scale retribution against the working class. Reminder- if you have to work, you are working class.
Wage increases are outpacing inflation for the first time in decades. Unionization is still minimal but making some waves (around here, Menards, which is like Home Depot if everything were 40% worse quality, is having union rumblings happening. John Menard is a powerful anti union / anti worker ahole. He’s a big backer of the right to work laws here. Famously has been caught slashing manager pay if they fail to bust unions). Low unemployment is giving workers a bit more freedom of movement. Staffing shortages is contributing to the supply chain issue which hurts quarterly results.
That’s not gonna fly for long. The efforts the airlines largely lead to recently reduce the Covid quarantine period is a step in the direction. Not that quarantine itself is as big a deal as woke twitter makes it out to be, but it’s a step toward minimizing Covid in effort to not make that an excuse any longer.
I don’t know what might happen but my prediction would be taking some of the anti worker stuff from the states and making it national.
Some things I’d look out for:
- Federal right to work
- Pulling back on minimum working age
- tightening the scope of fmla and workers comp
- More painful taxation for self employed / gig workers (as if self employment tax wasn’t bad enough)
- More onerous compliance laws for small businesses (many laws don’t apply for companies with fewer than 50 employees and adding compliance would be a big burden)
And probably some largely symbolic efforts like saying trans people aren’t a protected class.
Basically I think the overall level of opportunities and quality of life for Americans has been in steep decline. There’s signs of workers trying to claw back and that just doesn’t seem like something that will go well. Between the dems being the party of disappointment and the republicans doing literally anything for a buck, it seems the political incentive to just go with the giant donors will be there. If trump were still president *maybe* there’d be enough democratic populist energy to prevent some of this.
The Covid Cult will finally take a hit after the mid term elections. Unfortunately, 2022 will mostly feel like 2021 because those elections are not until the end of this year. 2023 will finally be the year where most of the country feels like 2019.
More businesses shutting down. No end in sight to the pandemic. Elon musk and jeff bezos become the first ever trillioniares. Nba becomes irreverent. Corporations thrive. Rinse and repeat.
Warriors predictions: I’ll 100% cry at home watching Klay Thompson’s return game but I don’t think he’ll be >70% of what he was and it might be net negative on the team’s momentum this season. I’d love another finals appearance but I don’t think they get out of the west. Draymond will win DPOY, Steph will not win MVP.

I see you, Nostradamus
I’m with you on Omicron! All pandemics end…

One NBA covid replacement player will hit a game winner in the playoffs!
Substack will use eye tracking technology to make you log back into your account after every five sentences read.
HoS will adopt a pay-per-article model using btc/lightning as the payment rail. Also will offer btc subscriptions at a discount.
Draymond average a triple double and wins finals MVP
Nets ball out with Kyrie and only lose 3 games in the playoffs
...Until the Dubs take care of business (on the road) in 6

My prediction? Pain.

The Bucks will repeat as champions and your media brethren will again try to pretend it doesn’t count. Winners hang with winners baby! 😉
I’ll take it!
