The Way the Media Covers Angel Reese Feels Like a Dare
You and Emmanuel Acho are allowed to find an athlete annoying

Your "we can now say anything again" theory is certainly being put to the test by Emmanuel Acho. Already people are getting miles and miles of content going after him for saying what I think was pretty fair criticism. I wonder if he will issue an apology or do the Ethan DADD approach?
Ya, that whole Angel Reese situation is one hell of a tempest, and a reminder of past social media hysterias. Rather than simply admit that an individual athlete can be an overly dramatic attention seeker, the collective media play has been to gaslight everyone else on having some deeply ingrained bias. In this environment, Acho lightly voiced a criticism of Reese and got crushed.
Overall, it’s been weird watching sports journos nervously discuss Reese like she’s the kid in that It's a Good Life episode. On this site, however, we take backchannel sports media conversations and make them public. Right now, one current topic of discussion in group chats is Angel Reese and there’s a wide chasm between the GC and public expression. I can’t think of another basketball player media members are this neurotically geared to overpraise. I don’t think it’s helping her, either, at least not anymore.
