At one point, 2009 to be precise, I worked for the WNBA as part of my NBA gig. I was a young and naïve PR grunt back then, but yet even I started to pick up on certain patterns. There wasn’t just an absence of enthusiasm for the WNBA, but also, a broader effort to obscure that apathy by laundering interest in the NBA as interest in its subsidiary.
