I'm only a few minutes in, but you guys are way off on your Parsons assessment. I don't follow all the day to day type online so maybe there is some exaggeration happening.
But he is an elite game wrecker on the edge and only 26 years old. That is a massively valuable player and Dallas got an atrocious return for him. TJ Watt , 31 in a month, will absolutely not be better over the life of this deal than Parsons. This kind of feels like Ethan sort of watched 2 games at parties and built out his take from there.
I love the comtrarian stuff, but sometimes the consensus is right.
i know Ethan loves the scott skiles david stern story so let’s break it down like that
on one hand we have a player whose 26 and is one of only two players in history to records 12 or more sacks in each of his first four season (the other guy is reggie white). a players whose defense is literally the worst in the nfl when he’s off the field. and he plays one of the top 3 most important positions on the field
and on the other hand we have ethan who “doesn’t remember this player making a big play in 1 specific game” but at the same time probably couldn’t cite any memorable tj watt, joey bosa, etc specific plays and just generally doesn’t know shit about football
As a big Lebatard Show fan, a couple things I’ve noticed about Stu:
Stu loves radio, and he would prefer a schedule closer to radio, rather than podcasting. I think he’d like to be a program director again.
Stu also loves sports! He wants to talk about sports and interview athletes. The show is less about that now, and Stu was noticeably absent, even when he was sitting right there next to Dan.
As a fan, I find this development more interesting: all of the women have left the main podcast. They’ll do hits, they have side projects, but women are no longer in studio. How about that?
