Part 2: Why Did Dan Hurley Do a Media Tour Over Turning Down the Lakers Job?

The bizarre Lakers story continues, with Shams Charania flexing power over Woj

Part 2 of the Lakers/Hurley/Redick/Woj/Shams Coen Brothers movie. I had to do a followup given recent media events.

For instance, I found this to be a bizarre if not unprecedented happening in the basketball world.

Yes! I’m glad someone else said this. This was highly unusual and not much appraised as highly unusual. Perhaps one advantage of appearing on 90 percent of the sports media outlets is that your hosts are disincentivized from commenting on how weirdly pervasive your sudden presence is. 

Also odd: This media blitz happened the same Thursday of close Hurley confidant Adrian Wojnarowski sheepishly reporting on ESPN that the Lakers were interviewing JJ Redick (again). As with many matters in this story, I’ve got theories on what’s going on.
