Today’s Mail Monday is about, I’d argue, a transformative development in sports media. From Connor S:
Why the Peacock hate? It's not that hard to sign up! Most people aren't using an antenna to watch football so they are paying someone to watch the games. $6/month for a playoff game is nothing. Also I pay way more for Sunday ticket, or Youtube TV.
I have it on good authority that this question was NOT sent by an NBCUniversal executive. In all seriousness, I believe that the Peacock Game is going to massively alter how ESPN and other sports rights holders operate from here on out. Based on what I’m hearing around the industry, Saturday’s frigid Chiefs-Dolphins contest is a potential watershed moment, the day we’ll look back on as when Peacockification began. Many fans are wary of what’s coming. Let’s get into it.
