The Minnesota Timberwolves are a lot more talented now than they were last week. They fit together much better. And few in the NBA world believe this will work. LaMelo Ball is such a font of whimsical idiocy that it’s understandable conventional wisdom to set the basketball aside here.

Because here’s the issue with LaMelo and why I believe he’s the most interesting player in the NBA: He’s great at his craft, but bad at his job. A big question at the heart of professional sports is how much that distinction matters.
