A reminder: A child needs to ponder/wonder. Their muscles of their imagination needs to be flexed. They need the NATURAL period of time where they don’t have all the answers. This creates an appetite to learn—and that’s more important than just “getting the answer” at drop of hat—especially from a loveless machine. Ethan is extinguishing a lot of stuff with plugging his kid into A.I. An analogy is, a kid needs to see their PARENT prepare their Mac & Cheese for them. They need to see the love and the act—not the noodles. Ethan’s logic is that, if there was a food machine that just “gives” his children quality meals of their choosing—it’d be great!! No. Sometimes you don’t get X meal, and sometimes dad can’t explain the combustible engine via rhyme. The lack of info is STILL valuable info. This is how smart people turn dumb and you’ll never convince them otherwise (until it’s too late)
I have no worries about Ethan's children other than them being a bit dorky and successful like Ethan. They should make their own Mac n cheese starting at age three
I know some people complain about football episodes (which I like.) Basketball film study episodes are my version of that. I just have very little interest in hearing about drop coverage and fighting over screens. Not trying to criticize anyone, that's JMO. Hopefully we get a nice long politics episode soon after all the crazy stuff happening
I find rooting for Team USA kind of like rooting for the Warriors when KD was on the team. They have such a talent advantage that if they win you just say, "Of course - you should win," but if they lose it will be shameful. And the entire time you feel like they just need more time to gel / more intensity / more motivation.
I think we can give the kids more credit regarding the Paul George appreciation. He might be the most aesthetically appealing player imaginable. A comparable example would be film analysis videos by very young people brilliantly breaking down Kubrick’s complex cinematography or, say, Tarkovsky’s camera placement. George highlights are also high art.
Durant is far ahead of him in basketball aesthetics. Michael Vick is my favorite football player ever aesthetically. I can watch him run and throw a football all day.

Jason is a great guest.

I agree so much about KD. Always thought he was the most effortless scorer I ever saw
Ethan. I enjoyed the dig at England for their footy failures.

This guy sounds like Zach Harper.
Great stuff
