I really like NFL Film guy Ted Nguyen of The Athletic, but I disagree with him here:

One of the dumbest conspiracy theories is that an analyst would prop up someone else that their agency represents. Your agency works for you. What leverage would they have to get you to put propaganda out?

Is this really such a dumb conspiracy? Or is it just so completely intuitive that even a dumb person could sense what’s potentially amiss here?

Nguyen said this in response to so many people noticing that ESPN football analyst Dan Orlovsky tends to rate fellow Creative Artists Agency (CAA) clients high in his quarterback rankings. I don’t think fans are crazy for being skeptical, given the content, along with incentives that I’ll get into.
