I don’t want to write about Adrian Wojnarowski all the time, but he’s one of the most powerful sports journalists. He’s also a perpetually interesting character, a driven conqueror who plays by his own rules. But I don’t want to write about him because, cards on the table, he’s rumored to have gotten me fired from ESPN back in 2017. I actually don’t know if he did that, but there are enough people who believe that I believe he did, and so attempts at dispassionate Woj analysis can be interpreted as petty bitterness. And yet, what can ya do? If you’re into the dynamics of ESPN NBA, meaning the entire digital version of ESPN’s NBA coverage, it’s hard to discuss that without talking Woj. In the aftermath of his big column on Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers, there’s much to discuss.
