Yesterday I wrote my theory on why the Good Good Callaway driver commercial was such a woman-smacking disaster. The short version is that I believe someone delegated the plot to an AI prompt like, “Make a parody of Obsession, but with our cast.” I have no proof of this, but the full ad is so surreal and disjointed that I can’t see how a human would have constructed it. It looks like the video version of those “Lovecraftian horrors” seen when restaurants create AI-generated images of their food.
But what of the still burning backlash to the Good Good YouTube golf brand? Progressive digital consultant B.W. Carlin posts:
Feels like a cultural shift that there is actual real fall out from this ad. Didn’t actually think anything would happen.
Does this stupid golf controversy mean Woke 1.0 is back? Are we in Woke 2.0? I’ve got some theories.
