This post might qualify as sponsored content (speaking of, join the prize-laden Probability Cup!) because Caitlin Clark’s Nike shoe finally came out on Wednesday and I happen to love it. This post might not qualify as sponsored content because I’m going to also talk about how ESPN’s Dan Wetzel just released a highly critical article on Nike’s failure to promote Clark, titled, “Caitlin Clark’s shoe is here. What took Nike so long?”

Wetzel is one of the best sports journalists working today, and his highlighting of this discourse on the ESPN platform means that Nike’s fumble will receive an order of magnitude more scrutiny. Yes, I can claim being earliest to this story, for whatever that’s worth (subscriptions? I think?). I’m amused at how I’m referenced in the ESPN article without being referenced.
