Reader Jake vigorously disagrees with my take on why the NBA should relax testing + quarantines for the asymptomatic. I’m posting because I think it’s a topic on which reasonable people can disagree and one of some importance. Even though I aspire to be a Substack totalitarian who only encourages reader praise and severely punishes reader dissent, today is the exception.
Some of what our difference of opinion comes down to, I think, is how much society can realistically do to stem spread of the most virulent strain yet. Layered on that, though, are these other tricky grey zones pertaining to institutions and their broader societal responsibilities. Anyway, take it away, Jake:
